Onesies

Our onesies for dogs are meant to keep your pup comfortable, so ensuring the right fit is a must. Measuring your pup is the most accurate way to ensure the right fit for dog onesies! The measurements we use are the chest girth (around the widest part of the chest) and the back length (from the collar to the base of the tail). In an ideal fit, the onesie ends at the base of the tail and is not gaping in the chest, but it's okay for the dog PJs to be a few inches short of the tail as long as your pup has a full range of motion. If your pup's measurements don't fit into one size, we recommend prioritizing the fit in the chest to ensure they're comfortable and to avoid accidents!

Getting your pup used to wearing a dog onesie style typically starts with introducing it indoors along with a treat to form a positive association! It can take a few tries to adjust to the new gear and some pups may not want to walk in the fleece onesie the first time they try it on. Using treats to encourage them to take a few steps and gradually working up to longer distances can help! It is important to ensure that the fit is right for them to ensure that they are comfortable and have a full range of motion!

Measuring your dog is the most accurate way to ensure the right fit! The measurements we use are the chest girth (around the widest part of the chest) and the back length (from the collar to the base of the tail). You can find more information about how to take these measurements and book a virtual fitting with our fit experts here!

Putting dog pajamas and onesies on can be tricky, especially if they don't like to stay still! There are multiple methods to get the garment on your pup, but you can begin with the following steps:

Place the dog PJs over the head through the neck opening
Guide the front legs into the sleeves
Extend the onesie out to the full length
Guide the back legs into the legs

For pups who don’t need much extra warmth and for those who live in warmer climates, the onesie and puppy pajamas can be a great option! For pups who need more protection from the elements, dog fleece onesies can be layered with suits or parkas and worn inside to keep them cozy!

All of our dog onesies, coats, and sweaters do have an opening along the back that allows for a leash to attach to a harness underneath! The harness can also be worn over the onesie - we just recommend double-checking that the fit is right! As a general rule, harnesses should be snug but you should be able to fit two fingers between the harness and their body.
