Dog Boots FAQs
The easiest way to measure is to trace your dog's paw while they are standing with their weight-bearing on the paw. We recommend measuring the front paws as they are typically larger but measuring both front and back is helpful! Please measure the length (including the nails) and the width of the paw for the best dog boots fit.
Measuring your dog’s paws is the most accurate way to select a size - check out our size guide here: https://canadapooch.com/pages/size-guide If you need any help with this, we offer virtual fittings! We’ll hop on a quick zoom to consult on the best size and fit for your pup: https://calendly.com/cpvirtualfittings. The best dog boots should be snug so that they cannot be pulled off, but there should be enough room to allow for a full range of motion.
1. Slide the boots over your pup's paws
2. Ensure the boots are on all the way on by
checking that the paws are at the tips of the
boots
3. Fasten boots securely by tightening the velcro
strap as much as possible, ensuring the straps
are lined up
4. Use drawstring to secure the top of the boot
The best dog boots will be completely comfortable for your pup's paws, so you don’t have to worry about the boots hurting. Getting dogs used to boots typically starts with introducing the boots to your pup indoors along with a treat to form a positive association. Many dogs can take some time to get used to wearing boots, but ensuring the fit is correct is very important - the paws should fill out the boots, but there should be adequate room for a full range of movement. It can be helpful to begin by putting one boot on and offering another treat to reward their tolerance. Once they are used to the boot, the others can be slowly introduced with additional rewards! You can then take them outside and work to increase the amount of time they are worn while on walks.
Boots can be helpful for dogs in extreme weather conditions and in protecting paws from salt, ice, hot pavement, and environmental irritants. The primary consideration is the situations you will use the boots for! If you are looking for the best dog paw protection for spring with rain and mud protection, the Waterproof Rain Boots will be most helpful. If you are in hot weather, especially in areas with less greenery, Hot Pavement Boots are perfect! The Soft Shield Boots protect paws from cold temperatures, ice, and salt.

Dog Boots for Paw Protection
Dog boots can be a great way to protect your dog's paws from a variety of elements, including hot pavement, cold snow, and salt on sidewalks. They can also help to prevent paw injuries, such as cuts, scrapes, and burns. There are many different types of dog boots available, so it is important to choose the right ones for your dog's needs. Some factors to consider include your dog's activity level, the climate you live in, and your dog's individual preferences. If your dog is active and loves to run, hike, or play in the snow, you will need a boot that is durable and provides good traction. The climate you live in is also an important consideration. If you live in a hot climate, you will need a boot that will help to keep your dog's paws cool. If you live in a cold climate, you will need a boot that will help to keep your dog's paws warm.
Finally, you need to consider your dog's individual preferences. Some dogs are not used to wearing boots and may take some time to get used to them. Others may love wearing boots and will beg for them to be put on.
